Rules

·         All entries must be  a max 15,000 words with no minimum. This does not include the header
·         ALL ENTRIES MUST HAVE A BETA
·         All entries must be a one-shot. You may expand the story after the contest has ended
·         All entries must be a new story
·         If you’re writing M rated fiction, you must be 18 years or older. No exceptions
·         Stories can be AU, Canon, or OOC, but cannot be AH
·         Stories can be from the TV series, True Blood, or from the book series, Southern Vampire Mysteries
·         It must involve at least one or more of the supernatural groups in the SVM/True Blood universe
·         Stories can be any genre (angst, mystery, romance, humor, suspense, crime, etc.)
·         Any pairings welcome, but the main character of your story must be a character from the SVM or True Blood series
·         You may submit more than one story, but three is the limit
·         RESEARCH! Your story should be historically accurate for the time/setting and event you choose, but your SVM or True Blood character can be taken and dropped into any time-period in history
·         Collaborations are allowed
·         Please include in your summary that your one-shot is for the Unsolved Mysteries contest
·         Entries can be posted on Fanfiction.net, LiveJournal, The Writer’s Coffee Shop, EricNorthman.net, or your personal blog. Just let us know where you’re posting it
·         Please use some sensitivity and common sense when writing. Any story that we feel is inappropriate will be excluded from the contest. If you think your story needs a warning for some of the subject matter, please add a disclaimer. Gratuitous violence, rape, etc. will not be tolerated

Any story that does not adhere to our rules above will result in expulsion from our contest.

How do I enter my story into the contest once it’s written?
Once you’ve completed your story, send us an email at unsolvedmysteriescontest@gmail.com with a link to where you’ve posted it. Also email us a gdoc or .doc file attachment of the story so our judges can judge them anonymously. We will strip the stories of author names etc. before we give them to the judges for reading.
